Fairchild Street Overpass | Danville, IL

The City of Danville needed to replace a 95-year-old tunnel beneath two active railroads. Benesch led Phase I and II design for a new $18.5 million, 1,200-foot overpass. The project entailed extensive funding requirements, public outreach and coordination with railroads, residents, businesses and more. Opened in June 2014, the new overpass includes roadway, structural, pedestrian and lighting improvements.
