This project consisted of the rehabilitation of spans 4 through 10 of the Chestnut Street Bridge in the vicinity of Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station. The proposed work involved the rehabilitation of the existing SR 0003 (Chestnut St.), multi-single span structure (spans 4-10), over Amtrak Railroad. The sidewalk rehabilitation work was staged with to accommodate the heavy pedestrian traffic resulting from the nearby Universities (Penn and Drexel) 30th Street Railroad Station and adjacent IRS office buildings. Relocation of the PennDOT owned electric substation from the Market Street Bridge abutment catacombs was also incorporated into this construction package.
