East Carolina University

Olympic Sports Complex

Greenville, NC

East Carolina University (ECU) completed construction on a multi-phased expansion and improvement of varsity track, soccer, softball and basketball facilities. Benesch and the project architect teamed together with ECU to design site and building improvements for this 20-acre site which sits adjacent to Clark-LeClair Baseball Field and nearby to Dowdy-Ficklen Football Stadium – a prominent corner of the campus.

Benesch provided master planning, detailed design, and construction documents for the accelerated construction of the Division One Varsity Sports Complex. Each field features a lush, natural turf surface with a state-of-the-art subdrainage system. The sports complex has an attractive decorative perimeter fence system matching the architectural character of the grandstands and support buildings. Decorative fencing, monument signage and landscaping was designed to create an attractive campus gateway.
