This $3 billion project aimed to improve capacity and operational efficiency, enhance safety, and manage congestion due to population growth in Houston, TX. Multiple areas of the project impact existing UPRR infrastructure including structures and mainline tracks in the downtown area.

The UPRR enlisted Benesch to provide track/civil and structural design plan review services for all UPRR infrastructure impacted along this three-mile corridor, including modification/ replacement of at least four existing railroad bridges and approximately a dozen highway overpass bridges crossing UPRR.

Additional work includes future construction submittal review and observation services during the construction phase of this project that impacts UPRR infrastructure.
