Located in a congested, urban environment, the Wells Street Bridge was in need of rehabilitation and required the replacement of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components. Benesch led the rehabilitation of this three-span, steel structure. In addition to mechanical improvements, this project included the rehabilitation of the existing bridge, deck overlay and improved safety features. The roadway portion of the work included milling and overlay, sidewalk and curb ramp replacements to meet ADA standards, and pavement marking.
