Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools sougt to replace and expand the West Mecklenburg Stadium and supporting facilities. The facilities were in poor condition and required expansion to meet current baseline standards.

From new and expanded grandstands to a new field house, concession buildings, storage building, ticket kiosks and plazas, this project was a complete transformation of the existing facilities. Benesch lead the design of the stadium transformation which more than doubled the capacity of the previous facilities. The project also provided new artificial turf for the field as well as new athletic field lighting. Improvements also provided new parking areas, emergency vehicle access driveways, new sidewalks and utilities.
