Upon Dale Earnhardt’s tragic death, Benesch designed a park and plaza in downtown Kannapolis, NC. In the center of the park rests a memorial sculpture dedicated to Dale Earnhardt. Lush plantings, a brick wall, benches, and retaining walls are all part of the design that provides a comfortable place to relax and remember the late NASCAR champion.
